The long-running fantasy epic, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has received a significant update for its Anniversary Edition on the Nintendo Switch platform. This patch directly addresses one of the most common player requests by introducing a long-awaited graphics performance toggle.
Players can now manually select between a 30 frames-per-second mode for maximum visual stability or a new 60 FPS option for noticeably smoother gameplay and more responsive controls. This update aims to resolve previous criticisms regarding inconsistent frame rates, particularly in dense forest areas or during intense combat sequences.
The Anniversary Edition bundles the core game with all previously released add-ons, including the Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn expansions, alongside a compilation of Creation Club content featuring new quests, gear, and gameplay modes. This performance enhancement is expected to significantly improve the experience for both new adventurers and returning veterans exploring the vast province of Tamriel on the handheld hybrid console. The update is available now as a free download for all owners of the Skyrim Anniversary Edition.
