The console isn't even on store shelves yet, but after a full year of waiting and watching, I've made up my mind. I'm buying myself a Nintendo Switch 2, and the reason is a single game: The Duskbloods.
I spent months on the fence. The original Switch still works fine. My backlog is embarrassing. I told myself I didn't need another piece of hardware just for better graphics or a slightly bigger screen. But then I saw the first real gameplay footage of The Duskbloods, and something clicked. This isn't just another port or a remaster. It's a new world, built from the ground up for this specific system. The lighting, the combat animations, the way the environment reacts to your choices -- it all looked like something I wanted to experience without compromise.
I know it sounds dramatic to buy a console for one title, but I've done it before. I bought a PlayStation 4 for Bloodborne and never regretted it. The Duskbloods has that same energy. It's dark, it's deliberate, and it demands your full attention. Playing it on older hardware would feel like watching a film through a dirty window.
So yes, I'll be there on launch day. I'll grumble about the price, I'll complain about the storage, and I'll probably spend the first hour just setting up my account. But the moment that title screen loads, I know it will have been worth the wait.
