This indie game is like Halo with haywire physics

A new indie game is turning heads by blending the iconic, clean combat feel of a classic sci-fi shooter with utterly unpredictable, physics-driven chaos. The title, Orbifold, places players on a fragmented, spherical world where the very landscape is a weapon and a hazard.

The core premise will feel familiar to fans of arena shooters: tight controls, energetic gunplay, and a focus on mastering movement and weapon spawns. However, Orbifold’s twist is its "haywire" physics system. The spherical planetoids are littered with interactive elements and destructible terrain. A well-placed shot might collapse a walkway, sending opponents tumbling into the void, or trigger a chain reaction of explosions that radically alters the map's layout in seconds.

This creates a thrilling, mind-boggling layer of strategy where players must account not only for enemy positions but also for the structural integrity of the entire battlefield. One moment you're winning a straightforward duel, the next you're scrambling as the ground beneath you shatters and spins away into space. It promises the satisfying skill of a precision shooter constantly upended by glorious, calculated pandemonium. Orbifold aims to be a fresh and chaotic take on a beloved genre formula.
