Gaming is a wild, unpredictable ride full of rage quits, clutch wins, and that one guy who insists on blasting “Never Gonna Give You Up” through voice chat. We’ve all had our fair share of questionable teammates, but some players push the art of trolling to legendary status. I’m talking about the kind of in-game meddling that leaves you confused, crying, and laughing all at once.
So grab your headset, your energy drink of choice, and maybe a stress ball (you’ll need it), because we’re diving into the chaotic world of the ultimate in-game trolls — the teammates who didn’t just toe the line, they tap-danced over it in clown shoes.
Steve wasn’t just neglecting his role, oh no. Steve had an agenda. He made it his mission to prioritize only the player doing the WORST. He called it “affirmative healing.” Said it was a morale booster. Honestly? Iconic. Useless... but iconic.
But this one fella? He took it to an art form. He’d sneak into enemy spawn, drop a decoy, scream “LOOK LEFT!” in local chat, and somehow, like a magician at a kid’s party, confuse half the enemy team into chasing the decoy while we planted the bomb.
Effective? Sometimes. Chaotic? Always. Troll level? 9000.
He spent hours gathering materials. You thought, “Man, he’s taking it seriously!” Then suddenly, the grand reveal: A cobblestone monument to Shrek, complete with a Redstone fart machine. And, of course, the beds were laid out to spell "L + Ratio."
He also rigged the floor with TNT—“for defense,” he claimed. Let's just say the creepers were the least of our problems.
“Everyone rotate B!” he’d yell, sprinting A with a knife out. “Perfect flank!” he’d say as he got flashbanged by his own grenade.
He had tactics straight out of a fever dream. Once, he demanded we all crouch-walk backwards into enemy territory “to confuse their radar.” Was it effective? Absolutely not. Was it hilarious enough to make me spit my drink? Every time.
But imagine a guy who built his entire persona around it. I’m talking about the Apex Legends teammate who would slide through your deathbox while you’re mid-recovery just to grab your ammo and say “finder’s keepers.”
He once threw down his Lifeline care package… while looting it himself mid-fight. We died. He lived. He left the match with a gold backpack and zero remorse.
Legend.
Every push? Flashbang. Every corridor? Grenade. Every spawn? Somehow, still another grenade. We never hit the enemy, but I now know what it feels like to have my own retina burned out in digital form.
He always apologized. “Oops, didn’t mean to flash y’all!” But the twinkle in his voice chat tone said otherwise. Pure, unfiltered chaos wrapped in faux innocence.
One particular hero went above and beyond. He synced his music perfectly to our ultimate abilities in Valorant. Every time someone used an ult, you’d hear the Mortal Kombat theme blaring. It was as confusing as it was motivating.
Did we win? Nope. Did we vibe? Absolutely.
He’d queue up in bronze lobbies and exclusively play with his feet. Yes, he would stream the gameplay to prove it—using toe-toe coordination to miss every skill shot and meme it up on TikTok.
When we asked what his endgame was, he said, “Just resetting the balance of the universe, man.”
Thanos who? We had this guy.
This guy roleplayed so hard in raids he made Critical Role look lazy. While we were trying to DPS a world boss, he was emoting “/kneel” and giving eulogies to fallen NPCs.
We nearly lost a guild war because he stopped to “pay respects.” I both hated him and wanted to give him a standing ovation.
This dude found a bug in GTA Online that made all characters T-pose and slide around like budget horror movie ghosts. Instead of finishing the job, he spent the entire heist running into walls T-posing, screaming “WHEEEEEE!”
We failed the mission.
We failed it four times.
But each time, it was funnier than the last.
It’s not uncommon for teammates to go AFK. But this guy? He left mid-match, came back five minutes later, and delivered an inspirational speech.
“I walked away from my computer to find inner peace. I have returned. Let’s win this.”
It worked. We were so confused that we actually clutched the round. His presence was like Gandalf arriving at Helm’s Deep. Except he smelled like Doritos and betrayal.
There was this guy in Warzone who refused to use guns. Melee only. Frying pan main. Thought it was hilarious. We rolled our eyes… until he solo-wiped the final squad by chucking a stun grenade and smacking everyone to death.
We still have no idea how.
Moral of the story? Even trolls can be heroes. Or at least, accidentally competent.
Fortnite players, you know exactly what I mean.
He won’t build. He won’t shoot. But he will floss. Constantly. Even mid-battle. Especially mid-battle.
He once eliminated someone and then spammed emotes for a full 90 seconds until the storm killed him. When asked why, he just replied, “Style points.”
Can’t argue with that.
These are the teammates who treat games less like competitions and more like a sandbox of absurdity. It's frustrating, sure. But it's also the reason why we keep playing, keep laughing, and keep telling stories about “that one time” for years.
So next time your buddy decides to sabotage the escort mission by replacing the payload music with crab rave, take a deep breath… and hit record.
Because gaming legends aren’t always the MVPs.
Sometimes, they’re just the trolls who took it to the next level.
