For high-speed drift zones, the 2021 BMW M4 Competition is a beast. The stock engine is already strong, but swapping to the V8 from the M5 gives you the torque needed to keep the rear end loose at over 100 mph. Just be careful with the throttle on tight turns, as it can spin out if you are too heavy on the gas.
My personal favorite is the 1970 Datsun 510. It is cheap, light, and with the right engine swap it becomes a nimble little missile. It takes some practice because it wants to oversteer at low speeds, but once you learn to feather the throttle, it feels like the car is reading your mind.
Avoid the Lamborghini Aventador for drifting. It looks cool, but the all-wheel drive system fights against you, and the weight makes it feel sluggish in transitions. Stick with rear-wheel drive cars that have a good balance of power and weight.
